Summer 2008  Youth Group Mission Trip!

Portland, Maine - June 22-27th

For the past several years, an unlikely section of the population of Portland has grown rapidly:  Thousands of refugees from war-torn African countries like Somalia and Sudan have been placed there to start a new life in the U.S.

Our time in Portland will be spent partnering with local ministries to serve these refugees through social outreach programs including Kid's Club, work projects, and community barbecues and beach trips.  These activities, along with helping the refugees improve their English skills, will help acclimate them to the U.S. and integrate into their community.

We will be driving to Portland and sleeping on the floor of a local church.  The cost is TBD based on the number attending.  Rising 10th graders and up are eligible for this trip.  Rising 9th graders will be considered if there is space available.  Please email Wendy Mulligan or click on links below for an application.  Space is limited on a first come basis.
